Its been known for a while that God of War III Director Stig Asmussen joined Respawn Entertainment a while ago, after leaving Sony Santa Monica due to the cancellation of its unannounced PS4 game. What not many know, though, is that Titanfalls studio hides a very sizable community of ex Sony Santa Monica developers, and another relevant one has just joined.

Back in February, Sony Santa Monica canceled a new IP, also laying off quite a few of its developers. The first to announce the cancellation was Lead Level Designer Jonathan Hawkins. Today Hawkins announced that he found a new place to express his talent by forming his own studio: White Elk Studios.

At the Playstation Experience that was held last week, Sony and developers organized panels for certain titles. God of War developer, Santa Monica studio did as well. Now footage has been uploaded of the panel featuring never told stories about God of War.

Creative Director Cory Barlog announced that God of War was in development at the PlayStation Experience in Las Vegas, which Daniel attended and has a full report.

Santa Monica retweeted the announcement just in case we thought otherwise, and from what can be gathered from an IGN report, the game won't be prequel (thank the gods). But this opens up the possibility that this new God of War would be a reboot in perhaps the same vein as Tomb Raider, especially since we know what happens at the end of, well, God of War III.

Santa Monica Studios is apparently working on a new God of War for the PlayStation 4. The news came fast, heavy and like a blur during the PlayStation Experience this past weekend, where the new director of the game made the announcement in passing during a panel discussion for the God of War series.

PlayStation Experience will include a panel titled "The Art of Creating Surprise Discovery in Games," and Sony has kept tight-lipped on its contents and panelists, as mentioned in the official description. Today Sony Santa Monica mentioned that they will host the panel and bring a "special guest." They also asked for feedback on the God of War Retrospective panel.
